Women's Web Watch FAQs

What's the site about and how does it work? Our site's members submit content from the web they want to share with their friends, members who have similar interests and the community as a whole. Submissions by members are short summaries (of the content the are sharing, this can be anything from a recipe to a Youtube video) plus a link to the web page and provisions for members to comment on the web page's content.

All content and access to the site is free, but registration is compulsory for certain elements, such as voting, submitting content and commenting on content submitted by other members.

Member can view all of the content that has been submitted by members in the Up and Coming section of womenswebwatch.com. Once a submission has received enough votes, it appears on our front page. Should the submission not receive enough votes, or if enough users report a problem with the submission, it will remain in the Up and Coming Section.

How can I contribute? You can help by doing two things.

  1. Please vote for submissions you enjoy, find interesting or feel our members should see.
  2. Submit content you find on the web, esspecialy content that you would vote for yourself (if it where already on womenswebwatch.com).

Is registration free? Registration is completely free and we guarantee that we will never share your email address or personal information with anyone.

What content can I submit? The short answer is, anything you like. If you have found something on the web that interests you the chances are it will interest others.

What is the difference between published and upcoming content? When content from the web is first submitted it will be placed in the upcoming section. After the submission has gained 2 votes it will become worthy of being published and moved to the published section. Published articles will also appear in their own category, upcoming content will not.

What should I vote for ? Please vote on anything you like, find interesting or feel others should read. The more votes a submission gets the more likely it is to appear on the top of the homepage. Allowing the most important web content to get the most exposure.

What are tags? Tags are a fun way of categorizing web content. If for example you submit a movie review for the movie Cold Mountain, your tags might be something like. Cold mountain, movie review, Nicole kidman. The content you submit will then be linked to any other tags with the same name. Feel free to use whatever tags you feel are appropriate.

Is it complicated to submit web content? No, it's easy. Simply click share the web and then follow the on screen instructions. Once you have completed this process you'll understand just how easy it is.

I want to submit a web page but the address is really long. How do I do it? When you find a web page you want to submit move your mouse pointer over the web page's address at the top of your browser . Click the left mouse button (the whole address will now be highlighted), while keeping your pointer over the highlighted address click the right mouse button. Move your pointer to Copy and click once with the left mouse button. When you are asked to add the page's address simply right click and the click paste with the left mouse button .
